Toronto, Ontario – For the third consecutive year, the Mitsubishi City Chase Series Presented by BlackBerry has been named Canada’s Best Sporting Event. The honour, known as a Star Award, was presented at the 11th annual Canadian Event Industry Awards Star Awards Gala.

The Star Awards recognize outstanding achievements in Canadian special events; the 2007 finalists included the FIFA U-20 World Cup of Soccer, the Telus World Skins golf tournament and the Baycrest International ProAm Hockey Tournament.

The City Chase requires participants to exhibit teamwork, resourcefulness, determination and the ability to make decisions on the fly as they search for ChasePoints scattered in unknown locations throughout one of seven Canadian cities. Regional winners compete in the Canadian Championships for a chance to win a pair of 2009 Mitsubishi Lancers and the right to represent Team Canada at the World Championships.
