Greensboro, North Carolina – Honda Aircraft Company has announced plans to expand sales of its HondaJet to Europe, beginning in May. The sales expansion comes as Honda Aircraft finalizes its U.S. distribution network, with Albany, New York chosen as the last of five sales and service facilities being established across the U.S. The HondaJet will also be sold in Canada and Mexico through the closest U.S. dealers.
Honda said its decision to expand to Europe is in response to strong demand for the aircraft from customers throughout the region. The new jet is expected to offer class-leading performance, fuel efficiency, interior cabin space and cargo capacity; it is expected that the company will receive its certification and deliver its first aircraft in 2010.
“We are excited to initiate sales in Europe, where we have received a steady stream of inquiries from interested customers who will now have the opportunity to reserve delivery of a HondaJet,” said Michimasa Fujinio, Honda Aircraft Company president and CEO. “We are committed to providing our customers with both a class-leading product and a sales and service support system that exceed their expectations for private jet ownership and travel.”
