Toyota gives US$5 million for national parks

Washington, D.C. – Toyota has announced a US$5 million contribution in support of five U.S. National Parks and the National Park Foundation to enhance environmental leadership and education programs. The company will also donate 23 vehicles to the National Parks.

“For more than a century, the National Parks have been a treasure across the United States,” said Dian Ogilvie, senior vice president of Toyota Motor North America. “We are proud to support these excellent programs for young people at the National Parks that are helping to develop the environmental leaders of tomorrow.”

The one-time grant will support the Everglades National Park in Florida, the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in North Carolina and Tennessee, Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming, Montana and Idaho, Yosemite National Park in California, and the Grand Canyon in Arizona, along with multiple national parks through the National Park Foundation. The educational programs serve children and teachers through such things as day use, camp scholarships, Junior Ranger programs and the University of California’s intern program for National Park Service leadership.
