Tokyo, Japan – Honda has announced it will begin sales of a new compact minivan, the Freed, in Japan tomorrow. It will also offer the van in special mobility versions, including one with lift-up seats, and a wheelchair-accessible model that will go on sale at the end of June.

Developed under the concept of “Freedom to create the perfect lifestyle,” the Freed uses Honda’s low-floor and low centre of gravity technology to achieve a compact body size with a spacious interior. Versions will be available in five-, seven- and eight-passenger configuration.

The new van features a flat floor, low-step in and walk-through layout that maximizes the van’s accessibility for children and seniors, large cargo area, two sliding doors, and 1.5-litre engine.
