St. Louis, Missouri – The Taylor family of St. Louis, Missouri, which owns National Car Rental, has purchased the Ontario-based Murdoch Group, a privately-held company that was the largest single Canadian licensee of the National brand in terms of revenue and fleet size.

The Murdoch Group operates at 21 sites, including 15 neighbourhood branch offices and six locations at airports in Earlton, North Bay, Sudbury, Pembroke, Timmins and Barrie. Headquartered in Kirkland Lake, Ontario, the company has approximately 180 employees throughout Ontario. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The Murdoch Group is the 21st licensee to be purchased since the Taylor family’s acquisition of the National Car Rental and Alamo Rent A Car businesses in August of 2007.
