CAA alters Driving Costs to reflect gas prices

Ottawa, Ontario – In light of rising gasoline prices and summer’s busy driving season, the CAA has released an updated version of its 2008 Driving Costs brochure. The brochure is available at CAA in the Public Affairs section.

The brochure is a comprehensive look at the total cost of personal vehicle ownership in Canada, for a midsize car and minivan, and is a collaboration of CAA and Runzheimer International.

“CAA has responded to consumer demand and updated our 2008 Driving Costs brochure with figures representative of current gas prices,” said CAA president Tim Shearman. “It is our hope that this information will be helpful to Canadians during this busy driving season.”

Driving Costs is designed to help motorists determine operating costs, with calculations based on fuel consumption, maintenance, vehicle depreciation, insurance and a number of other factors.
