Russels Point, Ohio – A Honda plant in Ohio has reached a major milestone with the production of its ten millionth transmission. Honda Transmission Manufacturing of America supplies transmissions to the company’s auto engine plant in Anna, Ohio, where they are mated up and delivered to auto assembly plants in Canada, Mexico and Ohio.

Located in Logan County near Russells Point, Honda Transmission has manufactured transmissions for nearly 12 years. The milestone transmission, originally produced for a Honda Accord, has been kept and will remain on display at the plant. In addition to Accord transmissions, the plant also produces automatic units for the Honda Ridgeline, Element and CR-V, and the Acura TL, MDX and RDX.

“Our team has worked very hard to achieve this milestone,” said Nobuyuki Sanui, president of Honda Transmission. “Working together as one team to exceed our customer expectations is the driving force behind our successes.”

The plant’s original company, Bellemar Parts Industries, started producing auto parts for Honda of America Manufacturing in 1982 when the automaker’s Marysville Auto Plant became the first Japanese auto plant in the U.S. The company was formally incorporated as Honda Transmission Manufacturing in 1997. The plant has the capacity to produce 750,000 automatic transmissions, 288,000 gear sets and 110,000 rear differentials each year.
