Ingolstadt, Germany - Audi has announced the all-new A6, with new engines and technologies that will cut fuel consumption by about 15 per cent across the model range, along with improved suspension and new high-tech assistance system. The revamped model will be initially launched in the German market in late summer.

The new model is almost the same size as its predecessor, but includes new lower noise levels, higher-resolution instrument panel graphics, new seat material, and an S-line sports package that includes 18-inch wheels and lowered sport suspension.

In the U.S., where the A6 will launch in January 2009, the A6 will be available with a 3.2-litre FSI V6 with front-wheel drive, exclusive to the sedan; an all-new 3.0 TFSI V6 with compressor supercharging and Quattro all-wheel drive; a 4.2 FSI V8 with Quattro; and 5.2 FSI V10 with Quattro. The Avant will be offered exclusively with the 3.0 TFSI and Quattro. European buyers will also have the choice of a 2.0 TFSI engine and diesel variations.
