Subaru launches new PZEV micro-site

Mississauga, Ontario – Subaru Canada has launched a new microsite dedicated to educating the public about its Legacy and Outback PZEV (Partial Zero Emission Vehicle) models. The site, at SubaruPZEV, takes a humorous approach to explaining the benefits of reduced emissions by comparing the models to a pogo stick.

“Subaru decided that an entertaining approach would be appreciated by motorists who would like to be better informed about their choices when it comes to reducing the impact of automobiles on the environment,” said Katsuhiro Yokoyama, president and CEO of Subaru Canada. “The Legacy PZEV and Outback PZEV Plus virtually eliminate tailpipe emissions, making them two of the cleanest vehicles on the road today. This makes them an especially good choice for people who must commute, for example, but who are trying to reduce their smog-forming emissions.”

PZEV vehicles must meet strict emissions standards set by the California Air Resources Board (CARB) and in addition to meeting the Super Ultra Low Emission Vehicle (SULEV) tailpipe emission standard, a PZEV vehicle must also eliminate fuel-system evaporative emissions.
