Canadian company unveils armoured SUV at SEMA

Toronto, Ontario – Toronto-based Conquest Vehicles Inc. has unveiled a fully amoured luxury SUV, the Knight XV, at the 2008 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show in Las Vegas. The Knight XV will be the armoured car company’s flagship vehicle.

Inspired by the Gurkha military vehicle, the Knight XV is biofuel-powered and uses a 6.8-litre V10 engine producing 400 horsepower and 498 lb-ft of torque. It sits on a commercial class chassis. Only 100 will be built in a limited first run, at a cost of US$295,000; each handmade vehicle takes 1,500 hours to build.

Interior appointments include Wilton Wool luxury carpeting, boardroom-style seating, dual glass roof with privacy shades, laptop stations, night vision and rear camera, and Playstation 3 system. It is built from ballistic hardened steel and includes ballistic fiberglass fenders and bumper, and transparent armour glass.
