Nissan’s SEMA display celebrates 50 years of sales

Las Vegas, Nevada – Nissan North America Inc. is celebrating its 50th year of selling cars and trucks in North America in 2008, and its 10th year as an exhibitor at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show in Las Vegas, with a display of 12 modified Nissan vehicles built by aftermarket customizers and Nissan’s engineering staff.

The vehicles, ranging from the GT-R to a 300ZX-powered 1932 Ford hot rod built by a Nissan employee, are on display at the company’s SEMA booth.

“The automotive specialty equipment industry has exploded in recent years, with sales exceeding $35 billion,” said Al Castignetti, vice-president of Nissan Sales. “We’re proud that so many professional builders and individual enthusiasts chose Nissan vehicles as the platform for creating their own modified and customized dream machines.”

Vehicles on display include the Steve Millen Sports Car Maxima, modified with spoilers, custom wheels and two-tone paint; the “Citizen Soldier” Altima Coupe, a tribute to the National Guard; the “Hot Rod Hybrid” Altima Hybrid with electric supercharger; the Automotive Design Concepts Rogue, with snow tires and snowboard; the 4×4 Parts Pathfinder; the NISMO Titan; the Muscle Road Frontier 4×2; the Rick Kulach Racing 350Z, which competed at the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) National Championship Runoffs; the Rockford Fosgate Armada Rocker; the Time-Attack 350Z; the Z Highboy Roadster; and an unmodified Nissan GT-R.
