2007-2008 Nissan 350Z Roadster
2007-2008 Nissan Altima

In certain vehicles, a varistor in the Occupant Classification System (OCS) control unit, located in the passenger seat cushion, may have been manufactured out of specification. Under certain conditions, this could cause an interruption of signal between the OCS and the air bag control unit (ACU). This could result in the passenger air bag being suppressed. The air bag warning light would illuminate, but in the case of a crash, the airbag would not deploy. Dealers will test the signal between the OCS and ACU and if, necessary, replace the seat cushion containing the OCS hardware with a new one manufactured to specification.
2009 Chevrolet Impala
Vehicles affected: 2
On certain vehicles, the passenger-side airbag inflator was not built to specifications and could fracture during a deployment. In a crash, pieces of the inflator could strike and injure occupants, and the airbag cushion would not fully inflate. Dealers will install a new passenger-side airbag.
2009 Kia Borrego
Vehicles affected: 27
On certain vehicles, the daytime running light (DRL) is optically combined with the front turn signal lamps. When the turn signal is switched on, both DRL lamps are extinguished and the turn signal is activated. This is contrary to the requirements of the Canadian Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 108, which requires the DRL in the lamp to be unaffected by the turn signal and to remain lit. Dealers will install new modified software logic.
2009 Mini JCW
2009 Mini JCW Clubman
Vehicles affected: 74
Certain vehicles were fitted with brake discs for 16-inch wheels, rather than 17-inch wheels. The smaller diameter discs could be exposed to higher thermal loads during braking. If this occurred during conditions of intense brake usage, braking performance would be reduced. Dealers will inspect the discs and brake pads, and replace them if necessary.
2009 Chrysler Sebring
2009 Dodge Avenger
2009 Dodge Caliber
2009 Dodge Journey
2009 Jeep Compass
Vehicles affected: 140
On certain vehicles, a broken solder joint on the printed circuit board of the power control module (PCM) can affect the fuel pump relay performance, and potentially result in an engine stall while driving, and/or a no-start of the vehicle. Dealers will replace the PCM.
2007-2008 Dodge Nitro
2008 Jeep Liberty
Vehicles affected: 315
On certain vehicles equipped with a manual transmission, the park brake lever clutch drum may distort and reduce the effectiveness of the park brake system. This could allow the vehicle to move inadvertently and cause a crash. Dealers will replace the park brake lever assembly on affected vehicles.
2004 Cadillac SRX
Vehicles affected: 692
On certain vehicles equipped with an automatic transmission, the transmission shift lever can be moved from the “park” position with the ignition on and without the operator depressing the brake pedal, or in some cases, with the ignition turned to “off”. This has the potential for the vehicle to roll or move if the shifter is accidently hit. Dealers will replace the pawl stopper and a bushing within the shifter assembly.
2006-2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse
2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder
2005-2007 Mitsubishi Endeavor
2005-2007 Mitsubishi Galant
Vehicles affected: 2,366
On certain vehicles, the bracket that is the anchor point for the left rear fuel tank mounting strap may have been improperly formed during the metal stamping process. This may have caused the metal to have a split where the bolt holds the fuel strap to the underside of the vehicle. In the event the tank is full of fuel and the vehicle is involved in a serious collision, the bracket could break and the tank could drop down, which could result in a fuel leak and possibility of a fire. Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, install a reinforcement cap to the fuel tank bracket.
2008-2009 Honda Civic
Vehicles affected: 75
On certain vehicles, the bracket that covers the fuel hose connector is secured with a bolt and nut; however, during assembly, the nut was not installed. In the event of a crash, the bracket may become lose, which could result in damage to the fuel hose connector, leading to a fuel leak. Dealers will inspect the affected vehicles and install a nut on the fuel feed hose bracket.
2001 Hyundai Elantra
Vehicles affected: 10,333
On certain vehicles, if liquid is spilled in the area of the cupholder on the centre console, it may seep through the console opening for the parking brake lever and drip onto the airbag control module connector located under the centre console. A contaminated connector would result in an airbag warning light illumination, notifying that the airbag requires service. If it is not serviced, the driver and passenger frontal airbags may not deploy in a crash. Dealers will install a protective cover over the connector.
2008 Britax E9L6889
Units affected: 789
Certain child restraint systems were produced with a printed material defect in the French version of the user guide. While the English instruction on page 7 is correct, the French version on page 45 uses the word “au-dessous” (below) the shoulder, instead of the correct “au-dessus” (above). Using the restraint in forward-facing mode while placing the harness below the child’s shoulders would increase the risk of injuries in a crash. Britax will send a kit containing an instruction sheet and adhesive label to be placed over the defective page in the French guide.
