Volkswagen to unveil Baja Touareg TDI at L.A. show
Herndon, Virginia – Volkswagen of America will unveil its purpose-built Volkswagen-Red Bull Baja Race Touareg TDI Trophy truck at the Los Angeles Auto Show. Powered by a 5.5-litre V12 clean diesel engine producing 550 horsepower and 625 lb-ft of torque, the truck will run in the 41st annual Tecate SCORE Baja 1000 desert race in the SCORE Trophy Truck class.
The truck’s chassis design and production are by Arciero Miller Racing of Foothill Ranch, California. The body was designed by the Volkswagen Design Center in Santa Monica, California.
The Volkswagen-Red Bull Baja Race Touareg TDI is sponsored by Volkswagen of America, Red Bull, BFGoodrich Tires, Dow Automotive, Oakley, KMC Wheels and Fox Shocks.
