2009 Infiniti G37 convertible
Los Angeles, California - Infiniti has unveiled its first-ever G Convertible at the 2008 Los Angeles Auto Show. The 2009 Infiniti G Convertible is scheduled to go on sale in North America in the spring of 2009, followed later in other Infiniti markets around the world.
“Designed to rejuvenate the spirit, the G Convertible adds an open-air soundtrack to the G’s legendary driving exhilaration,” said Brian Carolin, senior vice-president, Sales and Marketing. “This new G has dual beauty - it looks as good with the top up or down - along with a beautiful, leather-appointed interior that is meant to be experienced wide-open.”
The new G Convertible uses a 3.7-litre V6 engine, rated at 325 horsepower, with an electronically-controlled seven-speed automatic with available magnesium paddle shifters, or a close-ratio six-speed manual transmission. The roof is a three-piece folding steel top, while the interior features a unique Bose Open Air Sound System that changes equalization based on outside noise, vehicle speed and top position, and an adaptive climate control system that adjusts fan speed according to top position and vehicle speed. Technology features include a standard RearView Monitor, along with available touch-screen navigation system with XM NavTraffic and 9.3 GB Music Box Hard Drive, pre-crash seatbelts, intelligent cruise control with preview braking, and adaptive front lighting system.
The convertible will be offered as the G37 Convertible and as the G37S Convertible Sport 6MT, which adds sport-tuned steering, larger brakes, and 19-inch alloy wheels with W-rated performance tires. A special G Convertible Premier Edition, limited to 200 copies, will be sold exclusively through Bloomingdale’s Holiday Catalog and includes a custom Monaco Red Leather interior, red-tone Maple Wood trim, Midnight Black front grille, and nine-spoke 19-inch wheels.
