Whitby, Ontario – BMW Group Canada has announced that it will hold the Canadian premiere of the fifth-generation 7 Series at the Montreal International Auto Show on January 15, 2009. The new model will go on sale in the spring.
The new 7 Series will be sold as the 750i and 750Li, with the long-wheelbase Li version extended by 140 mm. Both models will use an all-new, twin-turbo 4.4-litre V8 engine, producing 400 horsepower and 450 lb-ft of torque.
The new exterior profile was designed by Montreal native Karim Habib, Team Leader of Advanced Design for BMW in Munich, Germany.
The new 7 Series also features an entirely new suspension system and is BMW’s first passenger car with a multi-link, double-wishbone front suspension.
The new-generation Mini Convertible will also be unveiled during the show, and is debuting with a new body design and new features in Cooper and Cooper S variations. It will launch in the spring of 2009.
