Toyota to stop Japanese vehicle production for eleven days
Tokyo, Japan – Toyota will halt vehicle production in Japan for eleven days in February and March according to a report by Automotive News. The reason cited was a 37 per cent decline in U.S. vehicle sales in December – the U.S. is Toyota’s largest market.
The eleven-day production stoppage is in addition to a three-day production halt this month at 12 Japanese plants.
Toyota previously announced it would suffer its first-ever operating loss in 2008.
