Nissan announces GT-R SpecV

Tokyo, Japan – Nissan Motor Company has announced a new limited-production GT-R SpecV model, which will go on sale in Japan in February. The model will also be sold in Europe, but no decision has yet been made on whether the SpecV will be available in North America.

The model is targeted specifically at enthusiasts who desire race car-level performance in a street-legal vehicle. Its unique body includes a rear spoiler, grille and brake ducts made from carbon fibre, and comes exclusively in Ultimate Black Opal body colour. The interior comes with only two seats, instead of the GT-R’s two-place rear seat, with special Recaro carbon fibre bucket seats, and carbon fibre trim on the centre storage box and instrument panel.

Performance is enhanced with a new high gear boost control devices, which momentarily increases boost of the engine’s twin turbochargers for greater torque in intermediate to high speed ranges, along with a titanium-coated exhaust system and carbon-ceramic brakes.

The GT-R SpecV is also equipped with lightweight, racing-style forged aluminum wheels developed for the model.
