St-Augustin-de-Desmaures, Quebec – Pneus Bélisle has opened a new, $3.9 million tire retreading plant near Quebec City, its second plant in Canada and the eighth across the country to use Michelin Retread Technologies (MRT).

“We have complete confidence in the MRT technology, as we already have one retreading plant using this technology in Saint-Jérôme in the Laurentians,” said Daniel Bélisle, vice-president of Groupe Pneus Bélisle. “In addition to investing $3.9 million in the construction of the plant, equipment and staff training, we are also very proud to be contributing to the creation of specialized jobs in the Quebec City area.”

MRT technology uses exclusive Michelin rubber and treads, with the finished products looking and performing like brand-new tires. Group Pneus Bélisle, with 38 years of history and 250 employees, is headquartered in Boucherville, Quebec, and operates two MRT retreading plants, two distribution centres, and 11 corporate stores located throughout Quebec.
