Blenheim, Ontario – Ontario-based RM Auctions will offer one of the most historically significant collections of wood-bodied station wagons ever assembled at the Sports & Classics of Monterey event on August 13-15, 2009 in Monterey, California.

The Nick Alexander Collection of 52 wooden-bodied Ford and Mercury cars will be offered without reserve.

Each of the cars have either gone an extensive and historically accurate restoration, or have been carefully preserved to maintain their original condition. There are examples from each decade of the American woodie era, from the early 1930s to the mid-1950s.

The collection includes a 1932 Ford that is one of only 351 V8 woodies built in 1932; a 1946 Mercury Sportsman that is one of only 205 built for one single year; and a 1948 Ford Sportsman that carries the highest body number known to specialists and is believed to be the last Ford Sportsman built.
