Renault-Nissan begins large-scale EV testing

Paris, France – The Renault-Nissan Alliance and energy supplier EDF have launched a large-scale electric vehicle (EV) test in Paris. The partners plan to test the development of electric mobility for the first time in France during real-life trials in the Paris region.

For one year, starting in September 2010, consumers, professionals and local government employees will test-drive 100 electric Renault-Nissan Alliance passenger cars and light commercial vehicles, using a charging infrastructure at home, at the workplace, in car parks and on the public highway.

The two parties plan to use the full-scale trial to test the usage and performance of their future electric vehicles. The vehicles used will be identical to the series-production models scheduled to launch early in 2011.
