Auburn Hills, Michigan – Jeep will introduce three new models at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit: the 2010 Liberty Renegade, Wrangler Islander Edition and Wrangler Mountain.
“While clearly appealing to our core customers, these three new Jeep models will attract new customers to the Jeep dealer showroom,” said Mike Manley, president and CEO of the Jeep Brande. “The new Liberty Renegade delivers renowned Jeep capability and an array of standard features in a stunning new rugged, premium design, while both Wrangler models expand the iconic anchor of the Jeep brand with unique, limited-edition versions that consumers have told us they want.”
The Liberty Renegade and Wrangler Islander will appear in the first quarter of 2010, with the Wrangler Mountain Edition scheduled for the second quarter.
The Renegade name returns to the Jeep lineup for 2010; it was first used in 1964 on the Jeep Wagoneer. The new model, positioned between the Sport and Limited, includes Selec-Trac active four-wheel drive, several colours including a Renegade-specific Salsa Red Pearl Coat, Mineral Grey Keystone 16-inch wheels, dark neutral metallic and Argent Silver exterior accents, hood graphics, deep-tint glass, fog lamps, skid plates and tow hooks.
The unique Islander theme is also returning to Jeep after more than 20 years, and is available on Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited models, based on the Sport. It features an available unique Surf Blue Pearl Coat paint, along with a “Tiki Bob” hood decal and seat logo, black side steps, 17-inch wheels with 32-inch tires, blue seat stitching, and rubber floor mats.
The Wrangler Mountain is based on the Wrangler Sport S package, and is available on Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited 4×4 models. Features include unique decals, 17-inch wheels with 32-inch tires, grille and bumper appliques, tubular side steps, Mopar fuel filler door, black tail lamp guards, and embossed seats.
