Mississauga, Ontario – Nissan has unveiled the 2011 Nissan NV, its first entry into the North American commercial vehicle market, at the National Truck Equipment Association’s annual Work Truck Show in St. Louis, Missouri.

The new vehicle is expected to go on sale in late 2010. It will be sold as the NV1500, NV2500 and NV3500, available with a choice of 4.0-litre V6 or 5.6-litre V8. All models will be available with a standard roof height, while the NV2500 and NV3500 will also be available in a high roof model with stand-up walk-through and work cargo area capability.

Nissan has produced commercial vehicles for 75 years and holds more than 75 per cent of the global market.

“The new kid on the block, as it turns out, is also a long-time player in the global commercial vehicle market,” said Mark Grimm, president of Nissan Canada. “As the first non-domestic nameplate to design and manufacture in the United States, as well as sell across North America, we bring a more than seven-decade tradition of durability, quality and reliability to our products.”

The new model will be manufactured in Canton, Mississippi and available through a select network of authorized Nissan Commercial Vehicle dealers across Canada.
