- Redesigned model
For 2009, the Audi A4 has been completely redesigned, with a longer wheelbase, larger dimensions, more interior space and new appearance. The sedan and Avant (wagon) are all-new, while the A4 and S4 cabriolet models are carried over from their 2008 configuration.
The A4 is available with a choice of new 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine in the 2.0T, or with a revised 3.2-litre V6. The sedan is available as the 2.0T in front-wheel drive or with Quattro all-wheel drive, or as the 3.2 with Quattro only. The Avant comes only as the 2.0T Quattro. The front-wheel 2.0T uses a CVT; the 2.0T Quattro sedans use a six-speed manual or optional six-speed automatic transmission with Tiptronic manual-shift mode, while the Avant and 3.2 Quattro sedan use the six-speed automatic exclusively.
The A4 cabriolet also comes as the 2.0T in front-wheel drive, and as the 2.0T Quattro, or with the 3.2-litre V6 with Quattro only. The S4 uses a 4.2-litre V8 with six-speed manual or optional six-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission.
Features on the 2.0T FrontTrak sedan include 17-inch alloy wheels, single-zone automatic climate control, fog lamps, cruise control, Intelligent Key entry, heated mirrors, heated washer nozzles, sunroof, heated leather seats with eight-way power driver's adjustment, 60/40 split-folding rear seats, rear centre armrest with cupholders, locking illuminated glovebox, multi-function leather-wrapped wheel, CD/MP3 stereo, and satellite radio pre-wiring.
The 2.0T Quattro is similarly equipped.
The 2.0T Quattro Premium adds three-zone automatic climate control, rain- and speed-sensitive wipers, LED daytime running lights, bi-Xenon headlamps, Bluetooth hands-free connectivity, chrome side window trim, twelve-way power front seats with memory, and six-CD/MP3 stereo.
The 2.0T Quattro Avant adds music interface with iPod control, and auto-dimming mirror with compass.
The 3.2 Sedan adds garage door opener, Advanced Key with pushbutton start, Audi Side Assist, rear parking assist, colour trip computer, and Bang & Olufsen sound system.
