We have established that the Genesis Coupe may not be the most practical sports car around, but for the most part, many looking at this type of vehicle really do not care. What they care about is how it drives and how it makes you feel when you are driving it and this is where the Genesis Coupe shines: on the road, where it should. More…

As one would expect, I know most of the options, pricing and features of most cars; it’s a part of the job kind of thing. Obviously, when new cars come out I may not know everything about it, but typically a lot of content is carried forward from previous-generation vehicles or siblings in a manufacturer’s lineup, so even then I have some inkling of what to expect in a car for a set price. For me, the Kia Forte Koup is a complete mystery; I know nothing about it; I have driven it for a day now and am starting to form some opinions of it. Upon sitting down to investigate features and price point, I’m a little shocked! More…

I am sure I have written the words, “This week I am back to basics” before. Well, if I have it was a lie because I have yet to test drive a vehicle more basic than this week’s ride, the smart fortwo coupe. My tester is a “pure” model with very few options, so I am back to basics for real this time, and basic is very basic — I can’t remember the last time I drove a car with manual mirrors! More…

There is one word that describes this week’s test car. I shouldn’t even be writing more than this one word as it may distract you, the reader, from the images in this article and in the gallery that you are drooling over. Whoa there! Close your mouth; you’re drooling on your keyboard! Yes, this week I am behind the wheel of the new Audi A5, and this car is HOT HOT HOT! More…

Spring has finally arrived in the capital and with it a sporty coupe for me to test for a week. This week, I will be behind the wheel of the Mitsubishi Eclipse Coupe GT-P. This is the top-of-the-line version of a vehicle that starts at a rather reasonable $25,998. My tester adds nearly $10,000 to that starting price as it comes standard with a ton of goodies. More…

Brrrrrrr — that’s what I have to say about driving a convertible in March. At least the convertible I am driving this week is the Volkswagen Eos, which has a folding hardtop; but let me tell you: a 30-plus km trip in sub-zero temperatures with the top down in March — not a good idea. More…

My week with the Honda Accord Coupe V6 could not come at a better time: it has been almost one year to the day since this 2008 model was revealed in Detroit and almost exactly two years since I reviewed the seventh-generation Accord Coupe V6. The eighth-generation Accord is, once again, larger than its predecessor and the coupe more sculpted than the sedan, with the traditional flowing lines that all coupes should wear. More…

Welcome back from the holidays, all. The holiday season has come and gone, and once again, it seems like the year just whisked by. This week I am testing the new 2008 Altima CoupĂ© 2.5s — I’ll apologize upfront for the photos of a dirty car with snow on it, it has been close to -30 Celsius the past few days here and believe it or not, the car was clean 20km before I took the photos. This week I’ll be driving a vehicle that I have to say is probably the least masculine of anything I have ever driven — not that that is a bad thing. Not so new anymore, the New Beetle is now in its tenth year on the market — oh, how time flies. More…

The Mini Cooper S: the epitome of small car fun, with the gusto to match. The movie the Italian Job made the Mini Cooper famous; its sports car-like handling, go kart-like feel and great looks have made it into a success. I’m sure my life is not nearly as interesting as Charlie Croker’s or Stella Bridger’s but I’ll try to put the Mini through its paces just the same. More…
