Day-by-Day Review: 2010 Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.8GT; Day 3
So the Genesis Coupe isn't the most practical sports car around, says James, but what really matters here is how the car drives. And it's in that department that this car really shines, he says.

You may discuss our cover story of the day in this thread....
Used Vehicle Review:
Dodge Ram, 1994 - 2001

2001 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 Quad Cab SLTDodge Ram pickups look tough, but unreliable automatic transmissions and brakes and suspension components that were prone to premature wear prevented this generation of Ram pickups from being durable work vehicles, says Chris Chase.     More...

my 2001 dodge ram 2500 /4x4 / 5.9 gas engine/ extended cab  is a good truck. I use it for snow removal since I bought  it and it has been used hard and  even harder from time to time .For the last five years I was doing the work that normaly two trucks supposed to do and my truck had no transmission problem. I had to do only regular maintenance on the truck like at 95000.00km replace ball joints/transmission oil changed before every snow removal season/oil was changed every 5000km/tune ups were done also on the required time, the brakes are fine only normal tear and wear and it is also the case all over the truck . There was only 1 brake down since I own this truck the ignition coil went bad at 105000km. The only thing that I want to complain is the gas milage but on the other hand this is aheavy duty truck, I want year 2000 gas prices and I would not complain at all .So that is my experience with this fine truck and I can back it up if you want.
If there is any spelling mistake I am sorry but I am not fluent in english.
Thanks for reading my post
cheers John

Welcome Apu.  Your spelling and grammar are better than many people who claim to be fluent in English.

My wife's family swear by their Dodge trucks.  They are beef cattle farmers, who transport cattle in fifth wheel stock trailers for other farmers on the side.  The 3/4 ton Cummins diesel 4x4 is a favourite, though the 1/2 ton models have served them well for duties other than trailer towing.

Ouch. That's what I thought after reading that article.

While I don't think Dodge trucks were/are the best, and in all honesty I really don't see many of the Rams from model years '94-01 anymore (maybe there's a reason;). However, I would say the article's tone was pretty harsh and newer Dakotas and Rams are far better vehicles and perhaps this could have been mentioned (maybe it was, I didn't see it).

Dodge defenders, come forward  Grin

Do you travel through rural areas often, SAM?  In my area there seems to be a fairly even distribution of GM, Ford and Dodge full size pickups.  I also found the tone a bit harsh...

The newer ones are supposed to be much more favourable. I don't see many of that generation RAM in the cities though. Whenever my girlfriend go up to the cottage (in the country) they are everywhere though. They're not in the best of shape, but they get the job done.

Wherever I travel, I don't seem to see them as much. Mind you, when they first came out even though a hit they didn't have anywhere near the volume as Ford or GM. Could me a more major part of the reason than durability.
