Day-by-Day Review: 2010 Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.8GT; Day 3
So the Genesis Coupe isn't the most practical sports car around, says James, but what really matters here is how the car drives. And it's in that department that this car really shines, he says.

You may discuss our cover story of the day in this thread....
Test Drive:
2007 Honda Fit Sport

2007 Honda Fit SportThough the subcompact Honda Fit is late coming to North America, it has the roomiest and the most innovative interior in its class, says Editor Greg Wilson.  "A combination of a tall hatchback bodystyle and a low cargo floor..creates a surprisingly roomy cargo area and cabin," he notes.  The top-of-the-line Sport model looks sportier, but is mechanically almost identical to lesser Fits, he says.     More...

A couple small errors in the review:

The base DX model is 100 watts and 2 speakers, you have to move to the LX  to get the 160 watt 4 speaker stereo.

You DON'T have to fold the rear seat bottom section up first before dropping the entire seat flat to achieve "utility mode". You just move the front seat all the way forward, and then use the lever at the top of the rear seat to drop the seat flat, then move the front seat back as much as you want, it slides over the rear seat's headrest.

Yeah, I don't see how you could even do it the other way, I'll have to try tonight, I was under the impression the bottom only came up if you folded the top down first.  That is the easier way to do it at least.

You can lift the back seat bottom cushion up and then click the support into place (there is no lever, which is kind of weird, but it will stay up on its own unless you give it a good tug) but you don't need to fold the rear seat down to get the bottom cushion up.

The fabric is very nice, although I would be concerned about it ripping as it is somewhat loose.

I don't know the more I see the Fit on the road the more it looks like
a 2/3rd version of a Suzuki Aerio. This car doesn't do anything for me
if I was in the market for a sub compact car....

The Yaris keeps looking more and more chic to me. It is an interesting design. If purchasing, I'd take the Fit tho for space reasons.

Hey, I said it before, the Fit was out in other markets in fall of 2001. Google it, you'll see it looks just the same... I think that it's a bit tired.

Tired is right it's downright dorky looking...of course that being a subjective opinion and all.
The Yaris' design seems to me much better executed.

I Agree ... when you see it for real, it's somehow a lesser car than you've imagined.  Maybe it's because of all the hype that was surrounding it in the forum. Tongue

The Yaris keeps looking more and more chic to me.

Maybe not chic but I get what your trying to say ... maybe trims on the side panels would help the "basic" look? (I won't say cheap ... it's gonna start a sh1t storm in here  Grin )

But does Ross look cuter in his Yaris  Grin
I thought the  write up was very well done.  The only thing he misssed was the poor rear view vision (when looking over your right shoulder).

I disagree with that, rear view vision is excellent.

Pricing on the DX and even LX seems reasonable...  but $23 000 for a Fit Sport with enthusiest package?  The car is still only 109hp...  can't imagine Honda will sell many cars in that class.  But then, I guess in this segment the true value is always in the mid-range models.

I like the looks, the Yaris might have more character, but the Fit has a kind of simple elegance to it, imo.

I disagree with that, rear view vision is excellent.

Sit in the driver's seat and look over your right shoulder (towards the C pillar).  There is one heck of a blind spot.
