Day-by-Day Review: 2010 Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.8GT; Day 3
So the Genesis Coupe isn't the most practical sports car around, says James, but what really matters here is how the car drives. And it's in that department that this car really shines, he says.

First Drive:
2007 Audi Q7

2007 Audi Q7The first SUV to bear the Audi name, the Q7 may look like the Touareg and Cayenne, but it's larger and shares almost nothing with them. Assistant Editor Jil McIntosh drives the V8; she says it's comfortable and luxurious, and while "the engine may not perform like a sports sedan, the handling can be mindful of one."   More...

I've seen this at the Ottawa Auto Show ... impressive I know .  It's big, bloated and expensive but the interior is small (especially the rear seats) and the cargo area is like 3 feet high.  I would go see BMW, Volvo and Land Rover before Audi.

Well, if I wanted a “real” SUV I would buy a Tahoe for the money. These status symbols success have no other purpose other than establishing pecking order at the soccer field.

Sure hope that beige looks better in person than the photos.

I've sat in the Q7 and found it smaller than most of the journalists have claimed too. It's not bad, but not 'generous' as I've read so many places. Also, I find the Touareg seems better built with more expensive materials and bigger more comfy seats - the Q7 seat cushions seemed a bit short and narrow.

Also sad that the large 350hp motor doesn't seem to jump off the line. With all that power, you'd think it would be a monster, but this thing does carry ground crushing weight.

On the plus side, it does have quirky upscale looks that are more interesting than many competitors, and it's priced a few thousand less than comparable ML's and X5's (which don't offer 3rd rows) with more horsepower (whether than translates into acceleration, I don't know).

I think it should do well, but after waiting for it for so long, I can't help but be a tad disappointed. Still, I think it's a good choice in segment for combining a bunch of good attributes into one package.

I have not seen it in the flesh yet, but if the photos are any indication, that is the ugliest thing to come out of Audi in a long time. As stated above by Snowy, and GOdspd, it would be way down my list of larger SUglyVehicles to look at if I were in that market. The answer to the question no one was asking...Meh.... Tongue Tongue

Audi Q7 is only there because BMW has X5 and lesser of this ... BMW don't offer third row seat. Porsche had Cayenne for that market too. Dare I mention Lexus with its offering of SUVs and quite popular RX-series. Don't forget Mercedez-Benz with its assortment of SUVs.

Another "SUV" in an already crowded market....yawn. I'd take an All road or an A6 Avant before that any day.

I Agree  An estate (wagon) will serve the same purpose for family hauling with same number of seats.
