Test Drive:
2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder

A grand tourer.

Not the sports car the Eclipse once was.

Calling this a "sports car" is a bit of a stretch to say the least. Call it what it is, namely,
a Grand Touring convertible with perhaps "sports car" pretentions. Anything front
wheel drive ain't a sports car that's for sure.

For a lot of people this car makes sense. Lots of power, good ride, great looks. Not everyone needs corner curving handling - I'm sure for most this car will feel sporty enough.

Nice styling ...

but

strut suspension, front wheel drive, sedan platform, big weight. Does have rack and pinion steering but its too little, too late. Much like a fat women in a running suit.

This is such a tub of lard. And the TV commercials made it such a promising car. Calling any FWD sports car is misleading. Grand Tourer it is.

AWD Eagle 1 was a little more darty/edgy/louder somewhat even though AWD Eagle 2 had the bigger Turbo and other bits. I prefered #2 even though it took me a long time to warm up to its shape.
