Feature:
2007 GM trucks

2007 GMC SierraTrucks are big business, and an all-new one is big news. General Motors invited the media to Michigan to see the all-new 2007 Silverado and Sierra models, which Assistant Editor Jil McIntosh finds impressive. "GM has done an excellent job of panel fit and gap reduction," she says, and its new suspension "should give a tighter and smoother ride".     More...

I am more interested in how those work truck "base" interior looks and feels like. Cause full-size trucks with leather and wood trim is like a Cowboy wears Armani suit, looks completely out of place!

A lot of people buy these to pull 5th wheels. They may be traveling a few Kms and want the luxury. The same people may use the truck as a daily driver. Not everyone uses these trucks as a work vehicle.

And a LOT of people buy these to pull horse trailers.  Likewise on the luxury desires for them.  Smiley

Right.  Like how carmakers add leather, navi systems, a/c etc into sports cars?  Whatever, it's all good if the buyer wants creature comforts combined with their fun car or work car.

I think the look of the GMC trucks are growing more on me. I originally liked the look of the chevy's more. To be honest, they are not spectacular designs, but then again, spectacular designs aren't usually required for pick ups.

Luxury interiors? Shouldn't the colours match? There's six "colours" in that picture...

Dear GM. Your interiors are offensive to those of us with eyes.
My TransAm's interior is ugly, but it's at least one colour. Not six.

That is -- uh, interesting. Seems to be "interior by committee" and no one was talking to anyone else.  Tongue

Yeah, don't know what's up with that black rimmed steering wheel  Undecided

Looking forward to seeing these trucks flyin' out of the Oshawa plant  Grin
I think GM's done a pretty good job on covering their bases with these (the 2 different interiors is a great strategy to appeal to more buyers), but wish there was a model that pushed the styling or sport envelope more.

That might just be a bad picture.  This picture of the "luxury" interior looks much nicer, though I still prefer the understated simplicity of the "work truck" interior:

I don't think it's just the picture. Judgning by the GM interiors of the past and present, this is truly that ugly.  Hurl

I'm no fan of Ford, but look at this interior on the Expedition:

That's a decent interior. Not really to my liking, but I cannot say it causes me to twich uncontrolably like the GM one does....

I parked beside a Tundra today. It said I-Force on the side of it, it was very impressive looking. I really think GM have ruined the exterior look of their trucks.

Regarding interiors.  Now that all the new half-tons are out (except for Nissan), I have to say that the F-150 has to win for nicest design:

Chevy's is too blobby for my tastes, but otherwise quite nice.  My second favorite:

The Toyota's has grown on me, though it still reminds me of "Two-Face" from Batman.  I'll call it third:

The Ram's looks just like every other Dodge to me, with the monolithic and convex center console.  Not my cup of tea at all:
