Funny thing is, with one of them, we kept corresponding even *after* I told him he was too late, I had already bought. He was nice and told me I got a good deal and that my dealer was a good one. 3 others said, "Congratulations!" (I e-mailed them back to let them know, so they wouldn't do anymore work in giving me numbers, etc.)

The dealership where I got my car was superb. For the first time, I never even thought of my salesman as a "salesman". He seemed like an "Acura advisor."

By the way, the manager of my dealership spoke to the manager of the first dealership about this saleslady's behaviour.

Her boss replied to the manager of my dealership, "This is the 4th time I've heard this, I am going to kill her!"

That's not good for her huh?

Likely but will take longer to make a solid living. It depends on management style pressed upon him too - if he doesn't deliver quick results, may be a pressure cooker he may opt out of the work himself. His style would likely require be-backs and 2nd time purchases and referrals, or the right kind of customer. A lot of customers who walk thru the door surprisingly enough are willing to purchase at the first dealership they walk into (especially those who hate car shopping or 'just want a car' or may be underinformed or disinterested in cars) and closing the sale as quickly as possible can be key to winning the business. I'm not the type of buyer to make quick decisions, but I'm surprised how many I came across. Over time he would likely gain a positive reputation that would be a great asset tho.

I had a look at the TSX when it first came out, when I was at U of W.
When I mentioned BMW 325i as a comparison.
She started saying that BMW was junk, overpriced, only silly people would buy that car.  Sad

My buddy actually gave up his $500 deposit on an CL-Type S and went for a used SLK230 in 2002/03, partially due to her.

Exactly what happened to me when I was at Acura in Markham.
Way too much pressure at that place, when I was there.
Hope things have changed by now.

The bottom line was, "Present the car and get the cerdit and leave the price/close to the manager"
I flet more like a monkey/robot instead of a sales consultant.
From what I have learned it is the management style of that "whole group".
The principal owner has 13 dealerships and at least from what I know, the VW and Acura are ran in the same fashion.

I bet he regrets that, unless he has deep pockets.  Every SLK owner I know has a love/hate relationship with their little roadster-like thing.  Love it when it's working, hate it for the rest of the time, which is most of the time.  My mechanic has an incredible amount of practice in solving clamshell-top problems...

Sounds like she hasn't changed at all.

I can't believe she's still working. I supposed it's because her style has netted her sales (as she loves to show off about that). This is unfortunate, that these types of salespersons have success, and others like my salesman struggle.

In Ontario, but not in BC, Alberta, and I believe some other provinces. BTW, they are called "law suits", not "law suites".  Also, you CAN try to bargain, but it usually doesn't get one too far on "in demand cars".

Saw the City Golf TV spot (where they're spying on a cammo'd Crayolla to see the price, then slap the same one on the City Golf - "German Engineering at Japanese Prices" or something to that effect). Was interesting because it was different but doesn't tell much about the car - still, don't think VW needs to as simply a VW priced that low period is the draw. Also heard the radio spot today.

Not too shabby for Cdn-exclusive marketing.

"Japanese Prices" doesn't mean much, since the big two Japanese aren't really inexpensive.  They should have said "Korean", or "Domestic with incentives".
