Dodge is really pushing the "masculine" attrirbutes of the Nitro as Jill pointed out. I think it looks good from the side and rear, but im not too sure yet about the front. I saw one in person a couple days ago. It was silver with the black body cladding and I think the cladding totally ruined the look of the vehicle. You'd have to get it monocoloured for sure IMO.

Yeah the styrofoam front end really looks bad when it's a different colour. Makes the nose too prominent, but if they chopped it back a bit and softened it up, it would look a lot better.
Kinda arrogant looking and no doubt what the Dodge boys were trying to achieve but scaling it back a notch or two would be quite acceptable. |

They were testing the Nitro on Motoring 2007 today What the guy did not like, was that the rear glass did not lift up That is so weird, the Nitro sits so high you would not be able to lift anything though the rear window without use a step stool |

I like the look of it in monochromatic higher trim models. Very sporty and unique athletic wedge shape - too bad the chassis and engine aren't up to the image presented.
Anyone seen the 'give it a little gas' TV commerical? |

Funny because my wife liked the design a lot! We also saw the Motoring 2007 episode. And she would choose it over the Suzuki XL-7 without a hint of a hesitation. I also don't like the base models with the black plastic fender trim. The vehicle looks then disproportionate (too narrow). |

Yeah it's odd how Dodge is marketing it towards males, but seems to appeal more to females |

Does this thing count as a cute ute?
Given that it's similar to the Liberty, which is a fairly capable offroader, I'd lean toward no. Jeep's cute ute is probably the Compass which is based on the Caliber. I finally saw a Nitro on the roads and was suprised by how high the belt line is. That said, it looked pretty good as it was black and didn't show the plastic bumpers like others have mentioned. |
