Day-by-Day Review: 2009 Mazda RX-8 R3
For a car whose design is a full five years old, the RX-8 still turns heads, especially thanks to the R3 trim his tester wore. Not all is perfect, though: the Recaro seats are a pain, and fuel consumption is on the high side.

I'm not sold on the looks, awfully bland looking instrument panel.  Reported serious engine problems in the early going scares me somewhat, I would opt for the very good looking GMC.

Hopefully the engine problems will be corrected within this model year.

While reading this whole article, all I could think of is the price and the fact that it's a 4x2.

$52K MSRP for a 4x2 crew max is ridiculous!!! Even for a Toyota.

CrewMax 4x4 5.7 6 speed auto starts at $41,660.  and that includes dual zone AC, power locks, windows, power rear window, cruise, .....   try finding one.

The 52K in the article is for the LTD with rear backup camera, nav, leather, etc.   The 4x4 version is $55K.  These are intended for the US market where ppl demand it.  Roll Eyes

When they offer the diesel, soon, the domestics will be in major pain.
