2007 Toyota Tundra Double Cab SR5 4x4Double Cab SR5 4x4: The new Tundra Double Cab has more interior room than its predecessor and lots of interior storage options, says contributor Bob McHugh.  The base 4.7-litre V8 is "a sophisticated truck engine," he reports.

The looks of this truck does nothing for me, the instrument panel looks dated like nothing else out there.  In my area I have seen maybe 3, but I see tons of new GMC and Chevy.

I Agree
I also only seen a couple on the road, but I am in GM country

The first thing I do with my pick up is take off the tail gate and put the cap on, so much for his opening statement for me
I wish the trucks would have a 120v plug built in so you can charge up cordless batteries

"I do prefer the forward hinged doors to the "suicide" alternative generally found on this size of cab."
How large is the opening ?
I find with the suicide doors you can get into the truck easily also you can get large items in the rear cab can you with these doors?

What are the different sizes of the box, I will only buy one that you can get a 6 ft ladder inside the box , that way with a cap on the back, the ladder stays dry, I hate taking a snowed and ice covered ladder into an office

How does the 4x4 work, does it have an auto setting like the GMs?

I have a love/hate relationship with C Pillars in extended cab trucks but I will sacrifice some access for a stiffer cab and less noise.

Not a truck guy, but this review sounds like a family car review to me.
The dashboard in this Tundra is a mess IMO.

As do I, even though I too am not a "truck guy".  However, I seem to recall in a few write-ups, that the reviewers were not given the opportunity to test the vehicles in question in the wild or on rough terrain.  An example would be the new Sorento "first drive".  What's the point of trying to show off an off-road vehicle when you don't allow it off-road?  Unless of course you admit that your customer base doesn't actually use it off road or that the vehicle is all show and no "go".
