Day-by-Day Review: 2008 Subaru WRX STi
Looks-wise, the STi reminds James a little of the BMW M Coupe. Otherwise, the STi is its own car, with performance to out-gun 99 per cent of the cars on the road. Even the road noise sounds better than in other cars.

Test Drive:
2008 Chrysler Town & Country Limited with Swivel N Go seats

2008 Chrysler Town & Country Limited with Swivel N Go seatsLimited, with Swivel N Go seats:
Crossovers may be cool, but minivans are still the best for families, says Contributing Editor Chris Chase, who tests the all-new 2008 Chrysler Town & Country and calls it value for the price.

I think that this article makes a good point. Regardless how how trendy crossovers are right now if you routinely need a "usable" third row, minivans are still the answer. With almost all of the crossovers I've looked at my first reaction when seeing the 3rd row is to laugh.....(my second is to ask...Does it come without the 3rd row for less money?)

Agree with the previous poster. I suspect that most third row seats of the older non 'stow and go' variety ended up spending a lifetime in the basement. Perhaps these third row seats should be an option only for those who need them, even on mini vans. Why carry the unused weight around. The stow and go space thus freed up would make useful lockable storage. Very rarely see the 'feu' roof racks used. They seem to be more of a styling statement than practical. Being thin and curved to boot. Save wind resistance and leave them off. The side rails could remain for attachment of sturdy straight after-market cross-bars that would also be removed when not being used er..most of the time for most people.
This luxury version is not the big seller but the lower level Dodge is a good value and will give good service when used with respect if the older model is anything to go by.

Swivel seats? What next? Will they offer a toilet closet as an installable option?

Don't worry Saf, the oxygen masks will only come down from the roof in the unlikely event of cabin depressurization  Tongue

Can the Swivel seats be used when they are rear facing?
This would have been great for the kids on a driving trip down south

The 2008 Chrysler T & C is another example of a well executed, premium luxury minivan, that is well built. This is safe, very luxrious and comfortable and it rides like a mercedes. Just before buying a used 2007 Chrysler Sebring at the dealer, I test drived this vehicle and it was amazing. The fit & finish was great and very luxrious. But, they aren't cheap, the salesman informed us it was $ 15000 down and you have a $ 1100 monthy lease for 60 months. Expensive!

Those storage bins do look kinda funny lined up like that. Looks like they are good for headphones, sun glasses, maybe CDs/DVDs.

Those numbers make no sense.... It's not $75,000 for a Town & Country no matter how you slice it.

Right wing its for a 48 month lease, TYPO. That adds up to around $ 53000.00 which is expensive. Even the toyota and honda minivans are not as premium on the price as the Chrysler is. But I agree that it is worth it, because of the overall premium product.

I love the concept of the Swivel 'n' Go seats, but wonder how often they would actually get used?  The average family these days has 2.1 kids, and I can only imagine using the table on longer roadtrips with three or four people in the back...  still, good concept, and seems well executed.

I'm not sure that can be right either

48 x 1100 + 15000 = 67800 total lease cost Huh

That's pretty steep to "rent" a Chrysler for 4 years

(and given Chrysler's reputation you'd sure as h*ll would want an extended warranty to cover you in year four!)

There's no way you'd pay $1,100/month to lease a T&C, even at MSRP. Add to that whatever nutty incentives Chrysler's got going right now; I wouldn't expect to pay more than $400-$500 monthly to lease one.

For longer legged adults, the angle of the 3rd row bench is perfect IMO. It's one of the few 3 row vehicles where my legs actually felt half-way supported in vs competitors with flat bottom cushions... I was quite impressed by it. Admittedly for children, they may have difficulty raising/shifting themselves to the forward edge to get out.

Really like this redesign. Stickshift, you didn't find the 4.0L that punchy or did you only test it in cold weather? Read a few reviews (think Edmunds, etc) that claim it's the rocket ship of minivans now sheer acceleration-wise.

Those numbers cannot possibly be right, my Mom's Cayenne was $10,000 down and $1000/month, I think you may want them to recalculate those numbers

Yes, the seats can be used turned backwards while driving.
