CarTalkCanada Review: 2008 Audi A5
On the road, the A5 is two different cars, depending on what mood you're in: quiet and composed on the highway but a ton of fun in the twisties, with lots of power to push you through corners.

First Drive:
2009 Nissan GT-R

2009 Nissan GT-R"One of the most exciting cars you'll be able to buy in 2008," the 480-hp, AWD Nissan GT-R is "an everyday supercar, but... with a distinctly Japanese flavour," reports contributor, Laurance Yap. It goes on sale this summer for $81,900.

Quite a positive review...  Cheesy

Sounds like an amazing machine.  Love the shot of it lined up with all the older Skylines, too.

I Agree  Any chance you'd post that picture in wallpaper size?  (1600x1200, or possibly 1280x1024)?

It's surreal to see the modern age skyline sold by Nissan Canada, let alone permitted access here by our royal high staff.

Nice write-up.  All I can say is hats off to Nissan for making this happen.  What a car!

Laurance says sure, no problem. This is 1600x1200:

Why would not Nissan, throw on a pair of winter tire on the car
It just show how irresponsible people ( even professional reviews)  , taking any car out in January or February without snows tires.

Agreed it's weird to see the infamous Skyline being sold in North America.

Good for Nissan to bring this car into NA and especially into Canada.

I think the car will have huge dealer mark-ups this year, but next year it'll settle down and you'll be able to pick it up for MSRP.

Now that the GT-R is available in Canada, all the other summer's divas become superfluous. Sorry Porsche, Lambo etc....  Wink

While the styling is distinctly Japanese, I'm just not taken by it. A little too everyday with unexotic touches. Also wondering what type of exhaust note it has?

Otherwise, this thing appears to be brilliant, and at that price represents a tremendous bargain.

I'd still rather an R8, but no denying the performance capability or respect the GT-R has earned.

Thanks for providing this!

Though, I still think that these are my favourite pics from Laurance: http://www.canadiandriver.com/articles/ly/evo_vs_sti.htm

(pic 3, 5, 9, 10, and 11 on the page)    Any chance we can get these in full size?     Really, I'd like to renew my comment that CanadianDriver should look into adding a 'wallpaper' section to their site!

I think most people would choose the R8, it's much better looking IMHO.  But the R8 is also $58,000 more.

Sweeeeet.

Where'd the other Skylines come from?  I'm thinking they weren't arranged by Nissan PR.

The most remarkable thing about the GT-R's styling is that it doesn't appear to be "styled" at all, inside or out.  I can't point to a single aspect where aesthetic design, instead of engineering or utility, triumphed.  Now, that leaves it industrial-looking on the outside and a bit plain on the inside, but you have to admire the single-mindedness of it.  That said, the R8 is just-jawdropping, and I'm not afraid to admit that I'm a sucker for great-looking cars and will pay a bit extra for them.
