Critical if Mary Kay suspects Avon is hiding mascara of mass destruction. Many pink Hummers and Caddies are already being massed along the border as the rhetoric builds.....

There are a couple of reasons people choose the various options in envirocars;
- image it bestows (ego)
- is comparable in IMMEDIATE pricing (not amortized over 3+ years of frugual driving ownership)
- that it uses less of the limited supply of fossil fuels (for others to burn in their Sequoias)
- that it burns cleaner than another vehicle (at a cost in additional fill ups)
- that it will be cheaper to run with fewer fill ups (over MANY years)
Many of the cars being offered provide several but not all of the features. In this instance, even if the fuel was available, you'd be spending more on fill-ups.
No one single solution for all - less frequent fill ups with less polluting impact, using a reduced amont of a dwindling supply of fossil fuels while being an equivalent cost to own relative to a 'normal' Impala. For example.
If volume brings down the cost of the technology, make ALL cars bio-friendly. Even better if the carcasses of old cars could be recycled into some form of fuel...
