Day-by-Day Review: 2009 Honda Pilot
Honda has taken the Pilot in a more truckish direction, says James, and though it's a large vehicle, he finds it's quite easy to park. On the whole, though, he finds the Pilot's powertrain and all-wheel drive system aren't as good as those in Ford's crossovers.

Test Drive:
2008 Suzuki SX4 sedan base

2008 Suzuki SX4 sedan baseNew for 2008, the Suzuki SX4 sedan has sporty performance and many features for the price, says Assistant Editor Jil McIntosh, but poorer fuel economy than most of its rivals. And a folding rear seat back is not available, she says.

This was a particularly well done review!

I especially liked the compact "mini-comparison" with the competition, where in a few sentences both power AND torque are noted for this car and ALL its main competition. Then there are numerous other comparisons too like base price and the variance in options. I mean its OK to list the competition at the bottom of reviews with links to their individual articles, which currently happens in other reviews, however that makes it time consuming to find basic comparative facts.

So I'm hoping all car reviews adopt the approach Jil used here.  Smiley

I find the SX4 quite an intriguing car to look at and read about. I still prefer the hatchback version from a looks and practicality perspective. I'm tempted to test drive the AWD version with 5 speed manual.

All they need is a hot hatch version to give the 'un-pimp your auto' V-dub marketeers a run for their money.

I was seriously interested in buying the SX hatch, but was put off by the gas mileage (which I don't think cuts it these days) and the thick A pillars.

No doubt if I was into sedans, I'd have the same reservations.
