Day-by-Day Review: 2010 Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.8GT; Day 3
So the Genesis Coupe isn't the most practical sports car around, says James, but what really matters here is how the car drives. And it's in that department that this car really shines, he says.

In fact, now that the IS250 is discounted, I think the TSX is a harder sell when new.

The IS option packages can push up the price really quickly.  From what I recall of my drive of the TSX (long time ago!)...I thought it "felt" sportier than the IS.

Prices will drop some more due to the 10% price drop on the 2009 TSX.  (now starting at $32,900 in Canada)

No price drop, only a content drop.  Old TSX came standard with leather and a few other goodies - the new base model doesn't.  A similarly equipped TSX costs the same as it always did...

Though I agree, even a drop in the base MSRP will hurt resale a bit, I wouldn't expect a big hit in this case.

Though I really like the IS, I preferred the TSX mainly because I preferred its "drive" to that of the IS. (I also liked its more spacious interior, higher seating position, and better visibility). The IS of course has other advantages and I think it's just a question of priorities.

Would I buy the new one (which I don't like esthetically as much) over the "dropped in price" IS? If it still drives the same, I'd still probably take it again over the IS.

But that's me. At similar prices, I suspect the superior cache of Lexus and the V6 will have the IS stealing market share from would-be TSX buyers.

I Agree  I think Acura made a mistake in de-contenting the TSX given the IS' price drop.  If the TSX was still offered as a "full package" and priced similarly or just above the IS, it would likely sell.  As it is, if they want to cut their MSRP to compete, they're going to wind up below $30k, and that seems to go against their efforts to move Acura more upscale...

The other day, something started rattling in my 06 TSX.  I immediately thought of mmret and his complaints of rattles.  I couldn't find the source - it was annoying as hell.  I almost booked an appointment with the dealership.

Then I found it.  It was a loose piece of broken plastic.  In a tape measure in my map pocket.

The old tape measure is now in my trunk.
