Day-by-Day Review: 2010 Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.8GT; Day 3
So the Genesis Coupe isn't the most practical sports car around, says James, but what really matters here is how the car drives. And it's in that department that this car really shines, he says.

Test Drive:
2008 Hyundai Santa Fe Limited AWD

2008 Hyundai Santa Fe Limited AWDThe Hyundai Santa Fe is a good choice for those willing to put gas in an SUV these days, says Assistant Editor Jil McIntosh; she especially likes that the Santa Fe's seven-passenger seating is a stand-alone option.

Interesting that mention was made of the $5,000 difference in MSRPs between Canada and US.

However, actual out the door prices in the US are substantially lower. Do a search of inventory at Fitzmall in the US and a typical Limted can be had for $26,000. Including reduced taxes paid on the lower price, we are realistically looking at a $10,000 - $12,000 differnce for the same SUV.

Car companies continue to rip off Canadians.

OUCH !!!!

I think its time for CanadianDriver Reviews to stop mentioning US pricing. Leads to needless arguments about the real difference. I doubt if it is an aim of these reviews to help decide whether to import or not. Its better to focus on the strenghts and weaknesses of a vehicle.

Actually, with all due respect, I think the exact opposite.  Every review of every vehicle should be highlighting the difference in pricing.  We can all bury our heads in the sand and pretend it's not there, but I'd rather see the automobile journalists keep the heat on and make the manufacturers realize that we haven't forgotten.  Thank you CanadianDriver!  Cheesy

I wonder if you would have the same arguement if the pricing was reversed. If so, I have some swamp..err...land to sell you in Florida that is only wet 6 months of the year.

If you want to kick and fuss about US vs Canada pricing with each review, be my guest. However, an article that excusively discusses the issue may be a better option. Auto makers probably pay attention to magazine articles. They're probably also looking at sales numbers. If those are steady, what's their incentive to lower prices? One way such articles may help pricing is if they encourage significant numbers of buyers to shop south.

IMO, a review is helpful when it can help choose between competing products.

I allmost bought a new 07 in north dakota this time last year. The local hyundai dealer was selling tons of em up here. They would meet you at the border & have all the paperwork including trcall letter allready done. Fully loaded 07 Limited was  $25,670 RTD cash out the door. Hyundai has stopped em selling new ones & nuked the warranty up here on em too. The US Sante Fe also comes with a 10 year 100,000 mile powertrain warranty to add more insult.
