Day-by-Day Review: 2010 Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.8GT; Day 3
So the Genesis Coupe isn't the most practical sports car around, says James, but what really matters here is how the car drives. And it's in that department that this car really shines, he says.

First Drive:
2009 Acura TL

2009 Acura TLLonger and roomier than the previous TL, the new 2009 Acura TL succeeds in being different, but "does it look good?" asks Senior Editor, Paul Williams.  Now available with Acura's SH-AWD system, it's "a delight to drive", he says.

What is really sad is that i have always loved the TL, and think this is probably the best version yet, and then they style it like this.

If we lived in the 40's we could all open our glass Coke bottles on the nose of that car...or on the truck where they added the same thing.

What a shame. On the bright side, once you get inside and don't have to look at that nasty exterior, you are greeted with a wonderful interior and likely a very fun drive.

The comments on the styling have been discussed extensively here...

Is it just me that is disappointed with these reveiws?  C'mon...these are supposed to be first drives...so why are only 10% of the words (so says MS Word) dedicated to actually driving the car?

It certainly is a cohesive design - shockingly ugly coming and going.

And that interior will not give Audi any sleepless nights.

Yikes.

I'm trying to think of a more hideous new model introduction in the past few years and I'm drawing a blank.

It may drive like a dream, but the looks are a nightmare.

PS - The fact that a Ridgeline driver thought it was "Hot!" should have told you something...

Maybe its not as ugly in person? I did walk by a 2009 TSX today and the big chrome front wasn't as bad as I thought. Still not my cup of tea but not as hidious as it looks in pics.

So now that 09s have hit the streets any sweet deals on the 08s out there (which I like much better looks wise and were available eith a 6 speed stick)

Still the only person I know who likes the new design is me Smiley

I like it...plus it sounds like an excellent car to drive.
