What genuinely impresses about the City Jetta is the ride and handling.
If its suspension is set up the same as my MkIV, I couldn't agree more.
As for it going away, I assume that's linked to the heavily-rumored arrival of the VW Polo in North America? Should appease those who want a smaller and cheaper design than the Golf but don't want an
older design.
As for difficulties opening the trunk, I like that it doesn't spring open. That way, if it's raining, rain doesn't get in while you're walking around to the trunk. As for where to lift it, I use the ledge above the license plate, not the crack at the bottom of the trunklid. However, I have noticed that the effort to lift and lower the trunk is extremely high. Was this the same in your tester, or are the struts that hold up my trunk lid just knackered?
