Day-by-Day Review: 2010 Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.8GT; Day 3
So the Genesis Coupe isn't the most practical sports car around, says James, but what really matters here is how the car drives. And it's in that department that this car really shines, he says.

Day 1 & 2:

2010 Ford Mustang GT
This week is a little different, with a holiday in the middle of the week -- happy birthday, Canada!  It is nice to get Wednesday off, as I'm sure most will agree, but it certainly plays havoc with my day-by-day format, so I will do something a little different to offset the holiday -- today is day 1 and day 2.  More...

You know what, now that I check their website, it does.  The info I have says just 3.73's but that is part of the track pack for only $500 you get special brakes as well.

Nice to read a review from a tester that can actually drive this car as opposed to the usual spec sheet review we usually hear.

Hot damn, James, you are on a streak of good cars lately. Last week the new Z4, now the new Mustang GT. Be interested to see how this week unfolds.  Cheesy

Just a couple notes:

The standard axle ratio for a manual transmission GT is 3.55. The 3.31 axle is for automatic GTs.

The $500 Track Pack I contains the following:
• Unique brake pads
• Unique calipers (non-painted)
• 3.73 Limited Slip Axle

There is also a Track Pack II option listed by Ford that includes:
• Dual piston front calipers
• Performance front & rear brake pads
• Performance 3.73 axle ratio
• Unique front strut and rear shock tuning
• Strut tower brace
• Unique front sway bar
• SVT rear sway bar
• SVT lower rear control arms
• Unique ESC Module tuning
• 19" Painted Aluminum Wheels with Unique 19" Pirelli
Summer-Only Performance tires
• Tire inflator kit replaces spare tire

Ford doesn't list pricing yet. May be late availability or something.

Usually it means that the option is planned but not yet available.

That must hack you guys off.  They are testing the Trak Pak II in US mags and raving about it.  Then someone comes in says "I want it" and you say "Not available yet".  Bummer...

Nice looking interior.

It is, and it is good that Ford offers a choice of upholstery in colors other than black or gray. However I have to say that the color of the seat upholstery with the remainder of the interior trim in black just doesn't work very well. In the previous generation of this car you could order a (for example) tan interior and most of the trim matched. Looked much better.

It's no big deal. Track Pack II doesn't even exist yet on Ford's consumer sites in the U.S. or Canada. It'll be available when it's available. Smiley

Sounds like fun, James.  But, just one question... are you really allowed to drive the snot out of your testers, then brag about it publicly?   Huh  Grin

$37,000 is the price for the much nastier Camaro V-8.  I do prefer the size of the Mustang, but I think Chev trounces it with the bang/buck equation.

I built a 1SS Camaro (yellow over black!!) with six speed DIY shifting, 426hp and added the Boston Acoustics upgrade and the out-the-door pretax price is $38,985.
