You ought to see my Honda CR-V and its my daily driver which on October 8th will be 10 years old.  Beer
 I Krown it myself and no holes were needed to be drilled. Then its run on Mobil 1 since the 1K km inspection which I performed as well as all others...the approach end of the cam lobes (OHC) look like the day they came off the shelf.

So yes, my vehicles are pampered. Trouble is, I have friends in line for them; quite a few have bought my cars.

Furthermore, I actually enjoy looking after my cars and motorcycles...its great mental therapy and gives you time to think about things.

Congrats on the new toy.  A 993 is on my short list as well.

BTW,  if you live anywhere near enough to Picton, Ontario,  come out on Oct 18th and test it out with us.  We're holding a autocross at an airport.  You'll be able to open it up a bit and see what it can do.

It's private now and most landings are from the Picton flying club.  We have the airport closed for our events, although that hasn't stopped a few people from landing anyhow.

We had a good Porsche worthy course there a few weeks ago.  Be real nice for a yellow 993

The ex-military airstrip was abandoned when I landed there in 1979. There were blades of grass growing out of the cracks in the runway.

My instructor and I shut down in front of one of the old run down hangars for a break, before heading off again.

I got my commercial and instructors shortly thereafter and became a flight instructor in 1980.

There was a "road test" of a plane with that engine in Road&Track IIRC.    I had wondered what happened to it and now I know.   Seemed like a good idea to me, replace those old pre WWII light aircraft engines with something newer,lighter and more powerful.

SCENIC ROUTE FROM WEST OF PICTON: To reach the town of Picton traveling from the west on highway 401, take exit 525 south (Highway 33, Loyalist Parkway) and follow the signs to Picton. Before entering PICTON right turn onto Route 1. T-Right onto Route 10 and immediate left onto Route 22. Enter at second gate on right.

I don't intend on driving this thing in the rain, unless I happen to get caught in it.

I was just under the car...cripes, even the threads of the bolts look like they were installed yesterday...not fourteen years ago.

I'd like a ride around the county as I've done so often on my motorcycle.
