Saffy, you're behind the times.  6.45 seconds is soooo 1970.  She'll be covering the quarter-mile in 4.7 seconds at over 320 mph.   Grin

She'll have the guiding hand of Pappa John behind her and the strength of the Force Organization - she should do well once her initial jitters are gone. She has been racing for a while already.

Could you imagine if Ashely and John go head to head in a round and Ashley wins it.

Man that would be hilarious to see.

Does anyone else find dragster racing as boring as I do, personally I don't even consider it a sport.  I would categorise it along with stunt shows, an event that is nice to watch, but I don't care who's driving...

 Huh

Great, that's two guys who won't be cluttering up the stands and getting in my way if I go to race.  Grin Grin

I'll second Snowie's comment.  Also, give it a try yourself.  There's categories for all cars at the drag strip these days.

Here's a video of Ashley testing a nitro dragster from a few years ago.  There's nothing like the cackle of nitromethane.   Grin

I agree that it's an event worth watching live. But on tv it's boring, and I consider it more of a stunt show/test of mettle, than a motorsport.  But that's just MHO.

I don't see how professional drag racing is any less a "sport" than WRC or doing a club event driving a car quickly thru the twisties. It's just what you prefer, that's all. All are the same kind of "sport", IMO.  Huh
