2009 Audi A4 or VW Passat CC

Tough decision for me. The VW is pretty nice and I am leaning towards this one..

What do others think?

need awd? Get the audi...
Don't need it then the cc makes more sense..

The audi also has a slightly different engine and better driving dynamics..

IMO if you don't need the space get the Audi.

And you probably don't need the space since you're considering a CC.

One thing I dislike about the CC is the frame-less windows.  That'll be a pain in our Canadian winters.

Other than that, looks like a great vehicle.

I'd go for an A4 Avant though.

Subarus didn't have framed windows forever....and they do just fine in the winter...

Get the CC....stylistically I think it's more of a head turner than the Audi both outside and in. If you need AWD then get the 3.6 4Motion version, but otherwise you'll be fine with the stock turbo and winter tires. The only major downside I can see is the lack of a fifth seat.

Of course the issue of resale value might sway you one way more than the other. I'm thinking Audi will have a better end value. ::)

As much as I love the Audi's turbo 4, I'd choose the Passat CC. Roomier, bit less expensive, and in my opinion even more road presence (outside the A4's LED light strip). If the sunroof only slid open  >:(  The 4Motion AWD system on the 3.6L isn't as advanced as the Quattro but I'm sure would get you thru just about anything.

For the money I'd get the CC. If you care more about what people think get the Audi.  I was going to get the A3 before I got my GTI.  Saved the money and still love the drive.  My VW dealership is owned by the Audi dealership and my service is great (sometimes people think you'll get inferior service because you bought a VW).

Every time you open the door, the windows go down about an inch and then back up when you close the door.  I'd hate to see what happens when the car's frozen up with snow/ice and those windows have to open.  Just don't like the idea of it.

Our BMW 323 is also 9 years old and no problem so far window only goes down 1/4 of inch maybe less
But I do think about sometimes

Neither. I would take a BMW any day over these cars. If I was spending 50+ on a car I want it to look like it. I think the BMW's always do. IMO.

You can also get such a nice Honda Accord with all the bells and whistles and have change left. that would be my only choices.

But If I had to pick between these too.

I would go with the Audi A4 over a VW. Mainly because the CC is in its early stages and I don't think I want to be test pilot for VW nor do I think a VW worth 50 grand.  :)

I personally think the Passat CC 2.0T is good value. The 3.6L far less so and might be shopping elsewhere myself at that snack bracket or wait until there's some discounting.
