2010 Lexus IS 350C
Less sporty than its rivals, the Lexus IS350C has a “suspension tuned for comfort,” says Contributing Editor, Chris Chase. Its retractable hardtop folds down in just 20 seconds, however there’s not much space left in the trunk.

2010 Lexus HS250h
While the new Lexus HS250h entry-level luxury sedan is technologically-advanced and “ticks off all the ecologically-friendly check-marks”, Editor-in-chief Greg Wilson wonders if it offers enough “style and refinement” to lure buyers away from non-hybrid luxury cars.

2010 Lexus RX 450h Touring
The redesigned 2010 Lexus RX 450h is more powerful than its predecessor, but returns better fuel mileage, says Assistant Editor Jil McIntosh, who finds it comfortable and elegant. It “nails the definition of a luxury hybrid SUV,” she says.

Secrets of Lexus RX hybrid system
A combination of technological features allows the new Lexus RX 450h to achieve such good fuel economy, reports Senior Editor, Paul Williams – including an Atkinson-cycle engine, three electric motors, a lighter battery, a new CVT, and an electronic controller.

2010 Lexus HS250h
Priced $20,000 below the Lexus GS450h, the all-new Lexus HS250h “will appeal to a new category of entry luxury buyers...who want a comparatively affordable luxury car with a modern and proven hybrid drivetrain,” reports Senior Editor, Paul Williams.

Lexus HS 250h hybrid technology
The hybrid technology in the new Lexus HS250h is borrowed from the third-generation Prius and Camry Hybrid, reports contributor Haney Louka. Though “it doesn’t actually possess any new hybrid technology... it sits at the forefront of mass-production hybrid technology.”

2010 Lexus RX 350
Sharpened handling characteristics, more engine torque and better fuel economy are a few of the improvements to the new Lexus RX 350, says contributor, Bob McHugh. Built in Cambridge, Ontario, it's the first Lexus to be built outside of Japan.

Lexus IS300, 2001-2005
Although there were no recalls of the first generation Lexus IS300, there were some problems with its audio system according to Consumer Reports, and some issues with transmissions in 2003 and 2004 models, reports Contributing Editor Chris Chase.

2010 Lexus IS C
Based on the Lexus IS sedan platform, the new four-passenger IS convertible has the fastest folding convertible hardtop in the business, reports Contributing Editor, Chris Chase. Its manual transmission “is a disappointment” but the six-speed automatic “is well-matched”, he says.
