January 7, 2001 General Motors unveiled Earthtroop.com, a web site aimed at educating young
people about protecting and improving the environment.
The site is designed for children aged 7-17 and
promotes awareness, responsibility and respect for the
earth.
January 6, 2001 Ford unveiled a new version of its
Crown Victoria Sedan featuring a Sport Appearance
Package at the Greater Los Angeles Auto Show.
Acura unveiled the 2002 3.2TL and 3.5RL at the Los Angeles Auto Show on Friday. Both models will go on sale in Canada later in 2001.
January 6, 2001 Previously equipped with an 'M power' 240 horsepower,
inline six cylinder engine, 2001 M Coupe and M Roadster models receive an
all-new 3.2 litre inline six, first seen in the M3 coupe. Horsepower goes
from 240 to 315 and torque increases from 236 ft.-lb. to a 251 ft.-lb.
January 6, 2001 Kia is showing a new station wagon version of its lowest
priced car, the Rio. The Rio Wagon, expected to arrive later this year,
will be priced slightly higher than the sedan model.

$192,000 BMW Z8 as its Car of the Year for 2001. The award, announced at the
Los Angeles Auto Show, is given annually to automobiles priced above
U.S.$40,000.

SUV, with near zero emissions.

concept made its worldwide debut Thursday at the Los
Angeles International Auto Show. The drivable concept
is part of a demonstration fleet the company will put
on the road later this year.
January 5, 2001 The Jaguar F-TYPE roadster has been given the production go-ahead, the company announced today. The all-new, compact Jaguar roadster becomes the fifth model in the company's expanding product range and marks Jaguar's return to the true sports car market, which it helped to create in the 1950s and 1960s.
January 5, 2000 Ford announced it will introduce the
2001 Mustang Bullitt GT, a performance derivative
inspired by the legendary 1968 Mustang Fastback that
co-starred with Steve McQueen in the classic Warner
Bros. Pictures film, "Bullitt."
January 5, 2000 The new Toyota WiLL Concept Car is
in Los Angeles to gauge the response of trend-setting
California youth, which TMC hopes will provide them
with marketing innsight they can use in Japan. The
development of the WiLL Concept Car was a joint effort
between WiLL, a popular brand name for several
products in the Japan marketplace, and the Virtual
Venture Company (VVC), an organization within TMC.
January 4, 2001 General Motors' Cadillac division revealed the Escalade EXT yesterday at the Los Angeles Auto Show - a Sport Utility Truck that is a cross between a luxury SUV and a premium pickup truck. The EXT will offer the luxury Cadillac customers expect and the extended cargo capabilities of a pickup truck.
