Toyota's new "Accessory Configurator" available on-line

Toronto, Ontario - Toyota Canada announced that its new vehicle configuration software is now up and running at www.toyota.ca. The "accessory configurator" can be used to customize a range of Toyota vehicles, including the all-new Echo Hatchback which went on sale July 29th.

Simply by logging on to the Toyota website, consumers can choose a vehicle, then add and remove a range of optional appearance, performance and convenience equipment. Consumers can see what their changes or additions will look like on the vehicle, inside and out, from virtually any angle. At any point, the customer can visit the "Price Your Toyota" section of the Toyota website to determine what their specially-equipped vehicle will cost, whether they choose to buy or lease it.

"This new accessory configurator software simplifies shopping for a vehicle - including the guesswork" said Tony Wearing, Managing Director of TCI. "Toyota offers a vast range of customization parts and accessories that owners can use to personalize their new car or truck. The configurator allows them to add and subtract equipment to instantly view what it looks like on the vehicle, all in the comfort and privacy of their own home, or at a Toyota dealership."

When customers formalize their purchase, they can either order their car or truck by placing a deposit on-line, or visit a Toyota dealership, knowing exactly what they want and the purchase price.

On the new Echo Hatchback, options will include such comfort and convenience equipment as air conditioning, cruise control, remote keyless entry, and one of four audio systems: (AM/FM/Cassette, AM/FM/CD, AM/FM/CD/MP3, AM/FM/Cassette/CD). Shoppers may choose packages and/or standalone options to determine their final price.

Echo performance-oriented choices include a spoiler, side skirts, fog lamps, centre line dual exhaust, and four different choices of alloy wheels. Inside, the Echo Hatchback can be equipped with custom seat covers, sport pedals, gear shift knob, and 10-inch subwoofer.

Currently, visitors to the Toyota web-site can use Toyota's Vehicle Configuration software to personalize the Tundra full-sized pickup truck, RAV4 and Highlander SUVs, and the new Echo Hatchback. Other Toyota vehicles will be added later.
