Ford recalls 792,000 trucks

Ford will notify owners of approximately 792,000 2000 model year F-150s, Expeditions, Navigators and 2001 F-Series Supercrews equipped with cruise control to have the electrical connector from the cruise control disconnected. The recall is to address under hood fires related to the cruise control switch.

The U.S. National Highway Safety Administration (NHTSA) reported that Ford is recalling Escape sport utility vehicles, and its Mazda equivalent, the Tribute, to fix the rear liftgate. The NHTSA said that it could pop open in a crash if left unlocked.
