Vancouver, British Columbia - Telus and Motorola Canada have announced the limited-edition Motorola i833 cell phone, designed by Pininfarina and inspired by sports car designs. Pininfarnia is the Italian design house responsible for vehicles from Alfa Romeo, Ferrari and Maserati; the new phone operates exclusively on Telus' Mike network.

"The smallest and most stylish Mike phone yet, the new Motorola i833 combines the power of Push to Talk (PTT) communications with the sleek design of an exotic Italian sports car," said Robert Blumenthal, senior vice president of Telus Products and Services.

The new phone features a translucent internal lens similar to a sports car's engine cover, a gas-tank-shaped audio jack and grill-like external speaker. The Motorola i833 is currently available at Telus locations across Canada, for prices ranging from $199 to $399 depending on contract. Until August 15, 2006, customers who purchase the new phone will automatically be entered into a draw to win one of 200 Maserati toy cars, remotely controlled by the handset.
